Neal Shusterman Book Signing

Thursday, May 5, I drove all the way to Ft. Collins to meet Neal Shusterman, "The Storyman." Mr. Shusterman is the author of books such as Unwind and the Skinjacker trilogy: Everlost, Everwild, and his newest addition, Everfound. I reviewed Everlost in a blog post last year. I highly recommend the whole trilogy, and I haven't even read the third installment yet. People have said it's their favorite of the series.

The audience at the Ft. Collins Barnes and Noble was small; about 10 people including myself and a few friends. I was surprised that there wasn't a bigger turnout; but then again, I don't know why the signing wasn't in Denver. Mr. Shusterman talked about the creation of the Everlost world and read some excerpts from the new book. Finally he signed his book, and the coolest thing was that since the book only came out on May 2, our copies were limited signed editions. He had brought a "first edition" seal from the publisher, Simon & Schuster, and stamped each book with the seal. In addition he numbered the copies; I got number 89/150.

Here is a picture for people who are no longer on Facebook (but I'm not naming any names, Abbie!).

Cute haircut!! I'm sure it's months old since I'm so out of that loop. :) Yay for me making your blog- ha! I heard Bret went with the kids, so I'm glad you knew some faces there. Sounds great- I need to check out his books. Are they thinking of making unwind into a movie? Did I hear that from Bret?

Yes, they're currently making both Unwind and Everlost into movies! No idea when they're coming out though. My haircut isn't that old, so don't worry - not even a month. It's supposed to be red, too...but it was demi-permanent, so it's mostly faded now :(
